    When to use this template?

A Proposal is used after you have met with a client and discussed potential work. It's like a secondary pitch. The Proposal is the scope, timeline, process and costs associated with working with you. It's packaged neatly into one cohesive and easy-to-read document - ideal for winning clients time and time again.

Don’t underestimate the power of a cohesive proposal - it could be the difference between landing the client or not.

    ---

A Client Agreement is used after you have sent a Proposal or a pitch. It is sent to your client after you have agreed to work together; you've agreed on a scope, timeline and pricing (this should all be in your Proposal).

Make sure you attach your Proposal and invoice with your Client Agreement. These are the magic three documents to ensure you and your IP (Intellectual Property) are safe.

Make sure you get a signature before commencing any work.

    ...

Ideally, you should run a Competitor Analysis before you start any branding. Basically, as soon as you have your business idea, a Competitor Analysis should be completed to tell you where and how you will fit into the industry.

It comes before your Brand Strategy and any design or Brand Identity.

It's the first step in building any brand to help you understand if your idea is a good one or not.

You can also complete a Competitor Analysis after a brand has been established to see how your business can improve in comparison to those doing similar to you.

We suggest completing a Competitor Analysis every year or whenever you feel a shift in your industry or a low in your sales.

    ...

A Brand Strategy is one of the first pieces of branding. It comes after your Competitor Analysis and before any design or Brand Identity.

It's the first block in building any brand and should never be missed.

You can also complete Brand Strategy after a brand has been established to add story and depth to an otherwise empty-feeling brand.
